Viewing Platform: Severndroog Castle is 132 metres (432 feet) above sea level, gifting it with one of the best panoramic views of the London cityscape, the Thames River and the edges of London’s seven surrounding counties.
Lady James Room: Severndroog Castle was built in 1784 as a memory to Sir William James by his wife Lady Anne James. It celebrates his most famous exploit, the capturing of the island fortress of Suvarnadurg.
The Tea Room: On the ground floor of the Castle is a tearoom serving comforting hot drinks, tasty lunches, and sweet treats – perfect for relaxing before or after your trip to the Viewing Platform.

Keys to the Castle’ free artist’s talk: Artist’s Talk 28th September at 4.30pm (free, ticketed). Himani J Weir will give an introduction to her work; her ideas and influences, followed by an informal Q & A, as part of her solo exhibition at Severndroog Castle ‘Keys to the Castle’.

Bus: Closest bus stop is Memorial Hospital (89, 244, 486) which is around five minutes walk from Severndroog Castle. Well Hall Road/Shooters Hill Road (122, 161) is also nearby but be aware there is a steep climb up to Severndroog Castle.
Tube: Jubilee Line to North Greenwich, then 486 bus, alighting at the Memorial Hospital. The closest station is Woolwich, served by trains and by the Elizabeth Line, then 244 bus alighting at Memorial Hospital.
