At Coverack, windsurfing is catered for at every level, from complete beginners to RYA Advanced Plus sailors, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the sport at their own pace. Situated in the picturesque village of Coverack, the Windsurfing Centre offers expert tuition for both beginner and advanced windsurfers, as well as equipment hire for Stand Up Paddleboards (SUPs) and kayaks. The beautiful sandy bay provides natural protection from the prevailing South Westerly winds, making it an ideal learning area for beginners, while the ‘Down Wind’ section offers stronger winds for intermediate and advanced sailors. Full safety boat cover is provided, equipped with VHF radios and safety equipment, giving peace of mind throughout the sessions. Those enrolled on an RYA course also benefit from free use of surf kayaks and SUPs.

The Centre offers 30 boards ranging from 80 to 280 litres and 90 sails from 1.5m to 8.0m, from leading brands such as JP, Fanatic, Naish, Severne, and others. Techniques such as water starts, jumps, and gybes are taught, with video coaching available to enhance learning.
- Wingsurfing / Wingfoiling: Wing tuition and equipment hire are offered daily throughout the season. Due to safety guidelines, instruction ratios are kept lower than in windsurfing lessons. Booking in advance is advised. WingSurfing and WingFoiling are modern watersports where a handheld wing, not attached to the board, is used while standing. No prior experience is necessary, and beginners can start on a large windsurf board before advancing to a dedicated WingFoiling board with a foil.

Price Details

SUP and Kayak hire prices:
- Stand Up Paddleboards (SUPs): £15 per hour per person
- Single Kayak (Mambo/Loko) with backrest: £15 per hour per person
- Double Kayak (2 adults + 1–2 children) with backrests: £30 per hour per person
- Extra Person Kit (wetsuit, boots, buoyancy aid, etc.): £5 per hour per person
- These hire prices include the equipment itself, paddles, safety leash (for SUP), wetsuits (full or shortie depending on conditions and season), buoyancy aids, wetsuit boots, and RYA safety boat cover in Coverack Bay.
Wetsuit and Buoyancy Aid hire prices:
- Wetsuit 5mm (winter wetsuit): £8 for half-day, £15 for full day, £40 for 5 days
- Shortie wetsuit 3mm: £5 for half-day, £10 for full day, £30 for 5 days
- Buoyancy aid: £5 for half-day, £8 for full day, £20 for 5 days
- Wetsuit boots: £1 for half-day, £4 for full day
- Valid ID is required for all hire sessions. A full-day hire runs from 10:00 AM to 10:00 AM the following day. Half-day hire is available from either 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM or from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
