Wallington High School for Girls (WHSG) is a selective academy for approximately 1400 girls aged between 11 and 18. The school first opened in 1888 and moved to its present site in 1965. The school is heavily oversubscribed and we have over 2000 applications each year for the 210 places in Year 7, and many external students also apply for our sixth form. We are a multicultural community with an increasing percentage of minority ethnic groups. Over 47 different first languages are spoken and this brings a rich diversity to our school. From September 2015, the school has become part of the Girls' Education Trust.
KS3
In Years 7, 8 and 9 students study the following subjects: Art & Design, Computing, Design & Technology, Drama, English, Food & Nutrition, Geography, History, Maths, Modern Foreign Languages, Music, PE & Dance, Science, Theology & Philosophy
KS4
KS4 includes Years 10 and 11 and during this period students study for their GCSEs. Year 7 Admissions
The entrance test is broadly based on the KS2 curriculum and they do not consider it to be necessary for children to be tutored in order to gain access to the entrance test. We never allow 11+ tutoring companies in our schools
Mid Term Admissions - Years 8 - 11
If you would like your daughter to be added to the waiting list, you will need to complete an 'In-Year Admission' application form which is available to download from the website of the London Borough of Sutton.
