At Laleham Lea they firmly believe in putting the child at the centre of everything we do. From the warm welcome as you walk through the door in the morning to the playground where all ages play, run and socialise together as one happy family.The pupils become happy, confident, fulfilled young people through both academic and extra curricular activities. Every child takes part in team sports and every child is involved in school productions and concerts. Our greatest pleasure is to watch a once shy child blossom into the confident soloist, take a leading role in school assembly or simply help a fellow pupil through a challenging moment.

Curriculum
At Laleham Lea, they offer a broad and balanced curriculum, concentrating not only on the core subjects of English, Mathematics and Science but also on Religious Education, Spanish, History, Geography, Music and Drama, Computing, Design and Technology, Games and Art. A Foreign Language is also studied from Nursery to Year 6.Religious Education at Laleham Lea is at the heart of the curriculum, enriching and informing all other areas of learning. Assemblies are held twice each week and we either celebrate Mass or attend Liturgy each Wednesday.Great emphasis is placed on Music. Instrumental concerts are held throughout the year allowing children to perform publicly, both individually and as members of a group. From Nursery to Year 6 children are encouraged to sing and to make music and a variety of musical instruments are taught by our many Peri Music Teachers.

Extra-Curricular Activities
Education is not just about academic learning and Laleham Lea offers a variety of specialist Lunchtime and After School Clubs to support and enhance our Curriculum. Katherine studied at University College Cork in Ireland and graduated with a BMus and Diploma in Education. Whilst in Cork her love of folk music flourished and she has performed at the Shetland folk festival and performed in the United States. As well as working as a Music Teacher and Piano Teacher at Laleham Lea, Katherine currently teaches music in four pre-schools and teaches piano at home. Katherine also composes songs for pre-school children and has released two albums for this age group-Katy and Kiki ‘High Five and more pre-school songs’ and Katy and Kiki ‘Clap with your Snowman and more pre-school Christmas songs’.
