Tyntesfield Primary School is State Primary School for kids aged 3 to 11 (Gender - Mixed )

They are a thriving school community with committed staff, supportive parents and wonderful children.  Many who visit, comment on the strength of the staff team and shared commitment to help every child in the school to love learning and achieve their best; taking each child from where they are to where they have the potential to be. Tyntesfield prides itself on being a happy and welcoming school, which fosters and nurtures a community who care for one another, where kindness is promoted and respect is strong. The children learn in a caring environment and are valued; learning is at the heart of all that they do and they teach them to aim high and develop their individual skills and talents as active, motivated, resilient learners so that each achieves their potential. They are proud of the strong reputation for high standards in all areas of school life and are committed to ensuring that every member of the school community has access to a rich and diverse range of opportunities. The curriculum is designed for the children and not only promotes high standards and challenges children’s thinking but excites and motivates the children and teaching staff.  They are striving to develop children’s knowledge and skill across all areas of the curriculum so that we nurture and grow well-rounded children who could be the mathematicians, scientists, writers or historians of the future.

Curriculum
At Tyntesfield, the school mission statement and the four school values underpin everything that they do, they seek to live the values each and every day; they are at the heart of the school. Since September 2019 they have been on a significant journey, researching, discussing and developing a curriculum framework that is right for our school. Over the past few years, we have been working on our English and Maths Frameworks using research and development methodologies to underpin our approaches before then considering the wider curriculum. This has been an exciting, challenging journey where they have questioned all that they do. Most significantly they have started with the ‘why’ and dedicated significant time to unpick and understand the purpose and aims of the curriculum. Subject leaders have researched and presented their vision for their subjects and then worked closely with SLT to bring their vision to life whilst developing a curriculum that is cohesive, integrating a cross-curricular approach alongside ensuring individual subject integrity.

SEND
At Tyntesfield Primary School we work hard to create a caring, nurturing environment, which enables all children to grow as learners and in which they are challenged to achieve their best. They aim to ensure that every child with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND) is identified and provided for as early as possible through working closely with parents and carers. Through Quality First Teaching and targeted adult support, children are able to learn in the classroom alongside their peers. Intervention programmes to address specific needs take place in small groups or individually and are frequently reviewed to ensure progress is maintained.

Extra-Curricular Activities
At Tyntesfield they recognise that extra-curricular activities boost young people's confidence to interact socially with others; extend their social networks; help children to learn about themselves; develop and use their skills and knowledge in different contextsand provide them with new skills and abilities. Above all, they aim for the extra-curricular opportunities to offer an important space for the children to have fun and relax away from the pressures of life. They are extremely proud of the extra-curricular activities that they provide at Tyntesfield Primary School and they have an extensive range of activities provided both by the staff and outsourced clubs. They encourage lots of extra-curricular activities to enrich the curriculum and children's learning; to broaden their experiences, develop creative skills and take their interests further.
