Lowen is the Cornish word for happy or joyful, at the Lowen School we believe all students deserve to attend a school where they are happy. Happiness is purposeful and meaningful, a place where students thrive and are enthused to learn. Happiness is reflected in our students.
At the Lowen School we believe that for our students to thrive we must recognise and celebrate their individuality, their unique learning strengths and personal aspirations. Many students will have found previous educational settings difficult. At the Lowen school it is our resolute belief that if our students are to thrive in our school we must understand and work with students strengths and when barriers to their learning occur, support them to overcome these.

On receiving an appropriate referral we undertake an initial assessment working with parents, the potential student and key stakeholders to identify whether the Lowen school is right for them.
