Children learn in a happy and stimulating environment, and as well as promoting academic achievement, there is great emphasis on the importance of nurturing personal and social development.Pupils have the opportunity to take part in a diverse range of clubs and activities, which has long been central to life at The Chadderton and has a vital part to play in the development of each child as a well-rounded individual. With a wide selection of after-school clubs and activities to choose from, pupils are encouraged to discover their own interests in areas such as sports, technology, outdoor pursuits, performing and creative arts.

Extra Curricular
The learning extends far beyond the classroom and we offer a range of extracurricular activities including nature trips, sports, arts and crafts, as well as exciting exploration sessions which the students love. Everything that we offer is embraced by the children and helps form a well-rounded experience.Your child can deepen and develop their interests by participating in a range of after-school clubs from football, rugby, netball and games to learning to play instruments such as the recorder, guitar, drums, the keyboard as well as dance, ICT, science, history and gardening – there really is something for everyone and we encourage children to participate, create and contribute fully in all aspects of school life.
Sports
PE is a great strength of the school and our sporting ability is well-demonstrated by the netball team who have won both the local league and the ISA Regional Tournament in recent years.We believe that sport should be inclusive with every child participating and given the same time and attention to foster enthusiasm and enjoyment. After-school sports clubs supplement our PE curriculum with football, rugby, netball and cricket clubs all available as well as many more. Inter-house and inter-school competitions take place regularly with the 'Champions League' football tournament a massive hit with the children. In addition, many of our pupils are members of local sports clubs and teams, in particular football, netball and cricket.
Culture
They foster a culture of research and development and organise regular visits to places of cultural, historical, geographical and scientific significance as well as to theatres both locally and in and around Manchester.Spanish is taught throughout the school and French is introduced from Year Four. In the Autumn Term, the school hosts a ‘Languages Day’ where children learn about the different cultures of a variety of European countries.Music is also important and your child will be offered individual or small group tuition from instrument specialists in keyboards, drums and guitar. Skills developed throughout the year are showcased at our annual 'Performing Arts Concert' in the Spring Term.
