The Cathedral School of St Saviour and St Mary Overie is a State Primary school for kids aged 3 to 11 (Gender - Mixed). Cathedral School strives to provide an attractive, safe, well-ordered, child-centred place of learning within a Christian context. Maintaining and sustaining the highest standards of teaching and learning is the key concern of governors and staff. The school seeks to work positively with parents and carers to fulfil the school’s expectation that all pupils are enabled to achieve at the highest level of which they are capable.As a Church of England Voluntary Aided School, Christian values are built into the ethos. There is a daily act of collective worship, which encourages spiritual development and a mutual understanding of life together.

Curriculum: Cathedral School offers a rigorous, exciting and wide-ranging curriculum. This curriculum is designed with four goals in mind: To provide a coherent, structured, academic curriculum that leads to sustained mastery for all and a greater depth of understanding for those who are capable To provide pupils with a wide range of worthwhile, enriching experiences and rich ‘cultural capital’ to develop pupils as active, confident and responsible citizens 2. To deliver well-crafted learning experiences to aid understanding, and to assist, new learning to be moved from the short to the long-term memory 3, To assist pupils to become prolific readers and eloquent orators, speaking with confidence and fluency in a variety of situations 4. The curriculum is sequenced purposefully, and careful attention has been given to what pupils should learn in each subject during their time at school. Knowledge and skills have been progressively sequenced so that pupils build on what they already know, ensuring that they are appropriately challenged and have a secure understanding of their learning

Things to note

Clubs: The enrichment clubs run each term. They provide a variety throughout the year. A recent selection of after school clubs are: Sewing Club, Philosophy Club, Story / Art Club, Singing Club, Maths Club – Problem solving, ICT Club, Cooking Club, Games Club, Photography Club, Games ClubGardening club takes place during most lunchtimes. They encourage all children to apply for a club. Regrettably, due to group sizes, not all children will be able to get into their first choice and they will do the best to accommodate where they can.
