Description

St Joseph's Roman Catholic Primary School, Willesden is Independent Primary school for kids aged 3 to 11 (Gender - Mixed )

They promote the Gospel values and aim to foster a Christian environment in which the love of God is present and allows all members of the community to grow spiritually. They hope that that the children will learn how to live according to the teachings of Jesus and the good news of the Gospel. In order to achieve this, they seek the support of parents and carers by asking them to show by word and example that they too consider the practice of our faith to be of central importance. We aim to provide a stimulating learning environment in which each child can fulfil his or her academic potential. Appropriate provision will also be made for the moral, emotional, physical intellectual and special needs of the children at each stage in their development.

Curriculum
At St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Primary School, we offer a rich, deep, broad and balanced curriculum, underpinned by the Catholic, school and British Values. Central to our curriculum is the development and acquisition of the pupils’ core skills in reading, writing and mathematics, supported by a strong emphasis on language, communication, and phonics in the Early Years. They aim to deliver an innovative English curriculum, which enables and empowers pupils’ written and oral communication and creativity and develops their confidence and love of reading. We also want to ensure that pupils become fluent in the fundamentals of mathematics and can confidently apply key skills and reason mathematically.

Early Years Foundation Stage
The Early Years Foundation Stage is the period of education from birth to 5 years. At St Joseph’s, it starts in the Nursery class and ends in Reception. There is a strong emphasis on learning through play, both child initiated and planned play. The curriculum is delivered through a combination of whole class activities, adult led focused activities and child initiated activities.
