St James Senior Boys' School

Description

St James' Independent Schools in London (UK) are three fee-paying schools for children aged 4 to 18.

Facilities

  • Two rugby pitches, a cricket square and an athletics track in the summer.
  • The school is located across the road from the train station and is on many public bus routes. They also run private school buses for students.

Features

Things to note

  • Developing confidence in speech and performance work is an integral part of life at St James. They value the ability to speak well very highly and give boys every opportunity to develop their speaking skills; this is why they place emphasis on Drama. In Year 7 and 9, all boys take part in a play.
  • Music is considered a major part of a St James education because of its great power to broaden the horizons of a boy’s outlook. There are many factors here – emotional maturity, cooperation, appreciation of cultural heritage and physical coordination. These areas are significantly enhanced through the power of music.
  • The role of Physical Education in the development of each pupil at St James is a vital one and this is reflected both in the allocation of lessons in the timetable and the wide spectrum of sports and sporting activities that are on offer to our pupils.
  • The CCF offers young people challenging military, adventurous and community-based activities, with the aim of inspiring them to achieve success in life with a spirit of service to the Crown, their Country and the local community, and to develop in them the qualities of a good citizen.
