Staines Preparatory School is a co-educational school where pupils become successful learners and achieve high academic results. Pre-Prep
Early Years is the first step on your child’s educational journey. Here at Staines Prep we believe that happy children are successful learners and they strive to ensure that each and every one of our pupils are happy, settled and thriving in our nurturing and caring environment.They want the youngest learners to develop a love of learning that will continue to develop as they grow and move through the school.
Lower School
In Lower School we put happiness and wellbeing at the heart of everything they do. A happy child is able to learn and develop academically, but equally importantly they growStudent in Staines Prep music class personally and socially. A supportive and nurturing environment is created in every classroom which enables pupils to feel confident and secure. We work in partnership with parents to ensure every child reaches their full potential.
Upper School
In the Upper School, they build on the strong foundations provided by the Lower School and continue to foster a passion for learning. As pupils move on through the years, they are encouraged to develop more independent learning skills and are offered challenges and opportunities to help unlock their potential. In Years 4 to 6, pupils follow a subject-based lesson timetable and independently move around the school being taught by a range of subject-skilled teachers. Our Science Lab, Art Design Technology Suite and Forest School areas are incorporated into the curriculum which provides exciting learning opportunities for pupils. Pupils develop good levels of resilience, independence and confidence which helps prepare them for their transition into secondary education.

Sports
Sport forms a major part of Staines Prep’s commitment to fostering all aspects of child development. A broad range of exciting sports offered to each year group encourages healthy competition and a love for physical activity.Your child explores and learns about their world through their natural enthusiasm for movement and we encourage this during PE. They start off working individually but begin to play with other pupils in pairs and small groups. By watching, listening and experimenting, they develop their skills in movement, coordination, control and communication and enjoy expressing themselves in a variety of situations. We also help them understand the importance of physical activity and making healthy choices for their wellbeing.
Creative Arts
ADT is a highly practical and creative subject at Staines Prep. Your child develops skills, knowledge and understanding through active participation in the design process. We aim to engage, inspire, and challenge our pupils, providing opportunities to generate ideas, explore their imagination and emotional wellbeing. We celebrate environmental and cultural diversity, and help them to appreciate the relevance of design to the economy and creative industries.
