St Faith's At Ash School Limited is Independent Primary school in Kent for kids aged 2 to 11 (Gender - Mixed )
There is a real sense of belonging at St Faith’s. From their first days at Sandcastles Nursery, children encourage one another to live the school motto,‘I can and I will’. In this warm and supportive environment, children learn to value themselves and each other, to take risks and responsibility, to learn from their mistakes and build on their successes year by year. With a broad and exciting curriculum, and supported and encouraged by excellent specialist teachers, our children steadily build knowledge and understanding, key skills and a robust work ethic year on year. When the time comes, they are able to take senior school entrance exams comfortably in their stride, without the pressures of intensive preparation. As a result, the boys and girls gain places to the region’s top independent schools, and regularly, over 90% take the Kent Test and qualify for the impressive local grammar schools. As importantly, they are ready for the next step, confident, optimistic, and ready and willing to make the most of all the opportunities life presents.
EARLY YEARS
Early years at St Faith’s starts in Sandcastles Nursery, and continues through into Reception at the main school. Packed with cheerfulness, reassurance, play, friends, support and imagination, these years are vital in your child’s education. We aim to create an environment that is fun, secure and stimulating, ensuring that the beginning of your child’s education is a happy and fulfilling experience. The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) precedes Key Stage One and is shaped through seven aspects that are interlinked. It is designed to ensure that all children are kept healthy and safe whilst at the same time developing social and emotional wellbeing alongside the knowledge and skills that create a firm foundation on which to foster a love of learning, an inquisitive mind and a sense of self-worth. This is reflected in the school’s motto of ‘I Can and I Will.’
LOWER SCHOOL
The Lower School is where our students’ formal education begins. You only get one chance to start children off on the right foot, and we take it! It is harder for a child to catch up a poor beginning later on.So most importantly, life in the Lower School is fun. They ensure the environment is everything it can be, a warm and friendly place where the boys and girls have a strong sense of belonging, within their class, their house and their school. They want the children to run into their classrooms expecting to have an amazing day, and to carry that enthusiasm into everything they do. They are encouraged to explore and investigate, to keep asking questions and challenge ideas, and to understand that getting things wrong is all part of getting things right.
UPPER SCHOOL
After making an outstanding start made in the Lower School, by the time they reach the Upper School at St Faith’s Prep our confident boys and girls are ready to take on new challenges. They are increasingly pro-active learners, and so the Upper School is all about investigating and exploring. They expect them to challenge preconceptions, ask questions, debate. They work collaboratively and alone, discovering the difference it makes to their grasp of subjects across the curriculum. Increasing independence is balanced by increased responsibilities. Growing self discipline helps them develop a strong work ethic, and we really admire both for their own behaviour and the care of those around them. They are also self discipline, which leads to a growing work ethic. The specialist teachers help channel all this positivity into grasping more complex concepts and strategies, building day by day to a broad and thorough understanding.
Clubs and activities
The clubs give children the chance to try out all sorts of fascinating activities. They might be things we don’t have time to cover in the normal curriculum, or feeIt also offers the staff the chance to share their own enthusiasms.
Trips, adventures and expeditions
From school trips to museums, theatres and wild places, to camping in the school grounds, and residential activity weeks, visits to France and skiing trips.
