  • Students enjoy a wide range of sporting activities at lunchtime, after school and at weekends. These are open to everyone and include Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Canoeing, Caving, Climbing, Cricket, Cross-country running, Dance, Fencing, Football, Gymnastics, Hockey, Netball, Swimming, Tennis and Orienteering. 
  • Music is a big part of school life at Redmaids’ High. Nearly 20 ensembles rehearse weekly, from Chamber Choir and Musical Theatre Group to an A Cappella group, Symphony Orchestra, and Swing Band. They also run specialist instrumental ensembles, one-on-one music lessons and a community choir, which includes parents, staff, and alumnae.
  • From drama clubs and stage school productions, to taking part in the annual Bristol Speech and Drama Festival, drama students have shone in many regional and national competitions.

Selection Criteria: Selective

Admission Details

Entry into Years 3 to 6: Before offering a place in Junior School, they assess ability in maths, writing and reading, and also ask students to complete a non-verbal reasoning test. No advance preparation is required.

Entry into Year 7: They hold a Senior School entrance exam in January for entry for the following September. They are typically a four form entry school and run a waiting list. Here is more information about the Entrance Exam: Entrance Exam

Entry into Years 8, 9 and 10: Assessments take place by appointment.

Entry into Year 12: If you are considering a move into Year 12, they arrange a bespoke taster day while you are still in Year 11, allowing you to choose up to five different A Level or IB Diploma classes, working alongside current Year 12 students. They would make on offer based on your predicted GCSE grades, and a reference from your current school.

Years 3 to 6: £3,675 /per term: A discount of 5% of fees is available to those with a sister in the school

Years 7 to 13: £5,395 /per term:

  • All public examinations are included in this fee.
  • A discount of 5% of fees is available to those with a sister in the school.
