Description

Oratory RC Primary School, London SW3 is an Independent Primary school for kids aged 5 to 11 (Gender - mix )

They opened just over 150 years ago as the first free Catholic primary school in London. The school is in the Trusteeship of the Oratory Fathers and Catholicism infuses its life, from Reception to Year 6. The close-knit community, made up of wonderful children, enthusiastic parents, a dedicated staff and supportive governors and trustees, work together in a spirit of trust and collaboration to ensure they give the very best to our children. We equip our children to become faithful Catholics, loving and considerate with others, and keen to make the most of the years that stretch before them to do good. Christ’s message is expressed in the kindness children are taught to show each other; not only in the particular importance we put on Juniors looking after Infants in our Owl and Owlet programme, but in everyday behaviour. This makes for a welcoming, happy school with children and families of many different kinds. From the moment the Reception Owlets join them, they nurture in them a strong sense of self-belief, a want to help others through Christ’s example and a natural strive for excellence so that by the time our Year 6 Owls leave us they are equipped and ready with the knowledge and skills to spread their wings and succeed in whatever they aspire to.

Features

Things to note

Sen
At Oratory they aim to create a positive learning environment, within a Catholic ethos, where all children’s needs and views are valued and no child is disadvantaged by race, class, gender or disability. We aim to raise the achievement of all pupils and involve parents in their children’s education. Sometimes children need extra support due to a physical or learning need, which may be temporary or ongoing.Once a potential special educational need is identified, four types of action should be taken to put effective support in place: 1 Assess; 2 Plan; 3 Provide; 4: Review. Specialist Services and teachers with additional specialist qualifications may be called upon to provide intensive specific programmes to be followed by all adults coming into active learning situations with the child (this can include the Classteacher, teaching assistants and parents/carers at home).
