NURSERY & PRE-SCHOOL
Good foundations are key to development, growth, and education. Moorland School’s EYFS gives your child the perfect start to their schooling career. The Staged Learning Environments engage children from 3 months up to 5 years with interactive spaces, purpose-built classrooms, and a dedicated education and development team. The commitment to EYFS rests on three important goals. To NURTURE the early years’ students, SUPPORT growth and development, and help them PROGRESS to the point where they are equipped to handle schooling and socialising. As they are always striving, Moorland Nursery School achieved and maintained the prestigious Lancashire Quality Award from 2014 to 2017  and is again working towards obtaining this accreditation to ensure we are ahead of all development matters within the Early Years sector.

INFANT SCHOOL
At Moorland, they develop the children’s social, mental, and educational wellbeing by providing a caring and nurturing environment. The passionate teachers, carers, and support staff – along with our unique familial environment –  ensure that every child is engaged and heard. In the Infant School, we care for children and take them on their first steps towards education and development. They have a unique close-knit community. The students and staff benefit from our small class sizes, which allow the team to understand each child’s individual needs and tailor their learning experience. They also aim to create a lifelong love of learning in our students, and regularly play games, teach lessons in the great outdoors, and use the dynamic learning spaces to keep young learners engaged. This helps develop independent thought and shows that learning is something that is done beyond the classroom. This approach allows us to provide a strong foundation for future studies and help the children find their interests and begin to understand themselves.

JUNIOR SCHOOL

The dedicated team, amazing facilities, and focused learning pathways set clear goals for the students and allow them to grow into happy, independent students. Students at Moorland benefit from our small class sizes which allow the team to understand each child’s individual needs and tailor their learning experience. Everyone from the Head of Department to teachers, teaching assistants, and the pastoral team works together to create a close-knit family atmosphere where children feel comfortable expressing themselves. In our Junior School we help students prepare for life in senior school. They encourage positive traits such as honesty, respect, self-confidence and independence. They use the unique curriculum to give children a strong foundation for learning and living.

SENIOR SCHOOL

Every aspect of life at Moorland  is tailored to individual student needs. The holistic environment allows us to help students realise their true potential and help them grow into happy, independent individuals. One of the key aspects of the Moorland way of life is the small class sizes. These classes allow the dedicated team to hone the syllabus and adapt it to individual strengths and interests. The close-knit family atmosphere helps develop interpersonal skills like communication, self-confidence, and respect. This focus on individual development allows us to teach our students not only academically but develop positive traits such as respect, honesty, self-confidence, and independence. These skills prepare students for life beyond school and allow them to pursue their goals.

We can offer so much because of the school’s grounds and extramural team. Such is the success of our programmes that our Ballet and Football programmes have become renowned throughout Europe for producing professional dancers and footballers.Students are encouraged to make the most of what the school has to offer and take part in whatever extra murals interest them. We also regularly plan trips and outings to Clitheroe and further afield. This allows students to learn by exploring the world around them.

Moorland school prioritises the student’s happiness and wellbeing above all else. This focus requires constant care and support. The staff also understand that students learn and develop differently. Thanks to the small class sizes and bespoke lesson plans, they balance this need for support and individual guidance through a uniquely familial school set up. SEND coordinators, teachers, teaching assistants and support staff are all integral to nurturing our students’ development.
