Admission Details

MPW Cambridge is an academically non-selective college. In order to assess whether they can offer courses that are suitable to a student’s needs, and to gauge whether a student forms a good ‘fit’ with MPW, they will only offer a place after a student has attended an interview at the college. Interviews take place with the Principal, Deputy Principal, Assistant Principal or a Director of Studies. They include a tour of the college and generally last 1.5 hours. Prior to the interview stage, there are plenty of opportunities to find out more about the college and what they offer. Prospective students, parents or guardians can contact the college by telephone (01223 350158) or email ([email protected]) to request a prospectus or arrange an informal, introductory meeting. You can also download or request a prospectus from this website.

During the summer vacation the college is open every weekday for visits. They also hold an Open Day each term to give prospective students, parents or guardians the opportunity to look round the college and meet students and staff.

Fees

The tuition fees at MPW depend on the number and level of the courses being studied. They do not have a fixed fee per year group and indeed some students combine courses across different year groups. The basic fee for full-time students is £8,130 per term at GCSE and £8,745 per term at A level. For full information about current fees, please contact the Admissions Officer on 01223 350158 or email .

Scholarships

Each year, MPW Cambridge awards a number of scholarships and bursaries to help fund the fees of gifted and talented students who are likely to gain particular benefit from academic provision and the more general opportunities the college has to offer. In turn, they expect award recipients not only to contribute to MPW’s reputation for academic success, but also to participate in broader aspects of college life.

There are two types of financial award available: scholarships and bursaries. Scholarships are awarded entirely on academic merit and generally subject to a scholarship interview, whereas bursaries also take account of financial status and are therefore means-tested in accordance with guidelines issued by the Independent Schools’ Bursars Association.

Each year, MPW Cambridge sets a budget for academic awards based partially on anticipated fee income and partially on anticipated income from Alumni Scheme. Please contact Registry ([email protected]) for details on how to apply for a scholarship or bursary.
