Things to note

  • Horse riding is a popular and successful activity at King's College. King's is the ideal place for your son or daughter to pursue their passion for riding and/or competing, as well as take part in a number of additional, varied co-curricular activities, and get an excellent academic education.
  • The 12 week basic skills course runs in the Cookery Centre. Two parallel classes run on Tuesday and Thursday evenings throughout the Michaelmas Term and Lent Terms if numbers demand. 
  • The Combined Cadet Force (CCF) is a voluntary organisation whose aim is to enable the development of personal responsibility, leadership and self-discipline.
  • Newly-built Arts Centre allows pupils to explore new mediums of art, including painting, printmaking, ceramics, textiles and photography. Watch the video to find out more.
  • King's has a thriving drama and performing arts scene. Every year the department stages a large-scale blockbuster performance, alternating between a musical and a play.
  • Musical life at King's is great fun. It is an important part of every day life for many pupils.
  • Sports is of much importance here. A lot of sports are offered to the pupils.

Admission Details

  • At 13+ - a pass at Common Entrance or in the School’s own entrance tests
  • At 16+ - 27 points (made up of the scores from the top five GCSE grades) and a grade 4 in English and maths

Scholarships

11+ Scholarships: 11+ scholarships are awarded by King’s College for pupils at, or entering, King’s Hall School. If holders of 11+ scholarships do not proceed to King’s College, the value of the award must be repaid to the College. Scholarships offered include Academic, Music, Sport and Drama & Performing Arts (including technical theatre).

13+ Scholarships: King’s College makes a limited number of awards to candidates who are about to enter the School in Year 9 (13+). Scholarships offered include Academic, Music, Sport, Art, Drama & Performing Arts (including technical theatre) and Design Technology. 

16+ Scholarships: Scholarships include Academic, Music, Sport, Art, Drama (including Performing Arts) and Design Technology.
