Entry into Nursery: Children can join from their 3rd Birthday. There are no formal assessments.
Entry into Reception: There are no formal assessment procedure for admissions into Reception but all pupils join for a taster morning before they are able to consider offering a place. This enables to get to know the child better and allows the child to become familiar with the setting. Children typically join Reception by coming to a January Taster Session, however, these can be arranged at any point in the academic year.
Senior School Admissions: Children joining the Senior School will sit formal examinations and assessments and they will request a reference from your child’s current school on receipt of your Registration Form.
Sixth Form Admissions: Sixth Form offers mixed tutor groups where Year 12 and 13 students are brought together in a distinct and thriving Sixth Form community. Our Sixth Form suite in Woolverstone Hall is an ideal space for our students to study, relax, have a coffee and (of course) to socialise. They welcome applications for all year groups in Sixth Form, depending on availability, they can accept applications and make assessments throughout the academic year for any year group within the Sixth Form.

Year 12 Scholarships: At Ipswich High School they offer two scholarships, The Woolverstone Scholarship and The Sophie Youngman Scholarships to Year 12 entrants. They also offer The Elliston Award for those applying to Ipswich High School from state-funded schools.
