Early Years
A child’s first years at school are to be savoured and, at Huddersfield Grammar School, we strive to make this as happy an experience as possible. Our Early Years department takes children from the age of 3-5 years old, consisting of both Kindergarten (age 3-4) and Reception classes (age 4-5). They believe in the primacy of the individual and understand that the development of character is a prerequisite for success in life. That is why our young people are provided with a rich variety of experiences, both within and beyond the classroom, that allow them to develop as well-rounded, enthusiastic and impressive individuals.
Pre-Prep School
The Private Pre-Prep School here at Huddersfield Grammar takes children from the age of 5, through to the age of 7. Pre-Prep picks up and expands upon the practices and understating that our pupils learn and develop in our Early Years classes. By introducing new subjects to the curriculum for our Pre-Prep pupils, we give them the opportunity to try new things. On top of this, by setting Pre-Prep pupils a small amount of homework each day, we begin to see them take their learning into their own hands; this will serve them well as they progress on their educational journey with us.
Prep School
The Private Prep School here at Huddersfield Grammar caters for pupils between the ages of 7-11. Our expanded curriculum and focus on building a better understanding of core subjects such as Maths, English, Science and IT gives pupils a fantastic educational foundation to build on moving forwards. Each of the Prep School pupils is given a timetable that suits their educational needs and interests. We find that tailoring education to suit the individual allows them to achieve the best possible results; and, also enjoy subjects that are most interesting to that individual.
Senior School
The Senior School is a dynamic environment designed to develop each child’s talent and potential. Our commitment to assessment, tracking and benchmarking gives an overview of each pupil’s academic progress. Huddersfield Grammar’s Private Senior School is where our pupils from the age of 11-16 are given the perfect opportunity to grow and mature not only as pupils but as young adults. Our Senior School approach couples an academically rigorous curriculum with ample opportunity to develop extra-curricular skills; encouraging our pupils to develop in all aspects of their lives.

Remote Learning
Huddersfield Grammar School is committed to providing continued learning opportunities for its pupils during this period of school closure. They have produced a selection of fun activities for students in both Early Years and Pre-Prep to complete over the course of this week, whilst Prep and Senior School pupils should have access to tasks via their individual Firefly accounts.
