The care and education they provide is very individualised, tailored to each person's needs. In terms of therapeutic support, they have service level agreements with Speech and Language Therapists, Clinical Psychologists and Education Psychologists who carry out all the necessary assessments and, based on those assessments, plan for support and intervention for those who need it.

They also provide training for staff and continuously measure the impact and the effectiveness of the intervention. The school has social communication sessions timetabled once a week to assist students in developing confidence, positive self-image, peer acceptance and appropriate and meaningful relationships with children and adults alike. Horton House School has developed a sensory room to provide stimulating, yet calming and relaxing environment for children and young people to help them explore their feelings. They have suitably qualified and experienced staff who relate positively to children and young people. The school uses the SPELL framework. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils.
