Admission Details

11+ Lower School 1 (Year 7): All applicants will have an interview and sit an online cognitive abilities test (CAT). This includes verbal and non-verbal reasoning, quantitative and spatial assessments. Applicants cannot prepare for these tests, meaning that the results will give an indication of their natural ability. Applicants will also sit papers in Maths and English which will assess their fundamental understanding of, and skill with, these core subjects.

13+ Removes (Year 9): For children attending UK Prep Schools, Haileybury offers an earlier entrance route called the Early Tests. This involves candidates taking the entrance examinations in the February of their Year 6 for a confirmed place in Year 9. Entry via the Early Test route is highly competitive as only a small number of spaces are allocated at this time.

14+ Middles (Year 10): Entry into Year 10 is dependent on spaces being available. Entrance Exams take place in the February prior to entry. Applicants will sit written papers in Maths and English, online cognitive ability tests, and have an interview.

15+ Fifths (Year 11): They admit a small group of pupils into Year 11 to sit an accelerated Pre-IB Programme of IGCSE study. This is intended for overseas pupils who wish to embark on the IB Diploma Programme in the Sixth Form.Applicants will sit written papers in Maths and English, online cognitive abilities tests and an interview.
