Things to note

  • The school exposes students to many different styles and genres of drama, both scripted and improvised, from mask work to puppetry. 
  • Music is one of the busiest departments at d’Overbroeck’s: whether you are interested in pursuing the subject past Years 7 to 9, through GCSE to A level Music or A level Music Technology, whether you wish to take up or continue instrumental tuition, or whether you would just like to involve yourself in the annual school production, compose for fun, or play your instrument regularly in a group of like-minded people, we have something for you!
  • Years 7-11 students have the opportunity to get involved in a range of sports clubs and activities. They host an annual sports day in the Summer where they have the chance to compete in a range of athletic sports.
  • Taking the Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Award at d’Overbroeck’s is a fantastic way for adventurous students to develop through activities and service in the community.

Selection Criteria: Selective

Admission Details

Years 7-11 entry points: In terms of entrance tests, the minimum level they require is roughly equivalent to the national average levels in Maths and English. However, decisions are made based on much more than exam scores alone, and a child’s personality is just as important to as their academic performance. 

Sixth Form Admissions: 

For UK applicants:

  • Six grade 6s at GCSE or equivalent
  • At least a grade 6 at GCSE will be required in any subject that you want to study at A-Level
  • At least a grade 7 in GCSE Maths to study Maths A-Level or at least a grade 8/9 for Further Maths
  • Minimum grade 5 at GCSE in both Maths and English

International applicants:

  • Local equivalent of six grade 6s at GCSE
  • Students whose first language is not English must also demonstrate at least upper B2 or above on the Common European Framework (IELTS 6 or 6.5 and above in all skills). Please note that international students are expected to continue with English as an Additional Language in the Sixth Form to support their other studies.
  • International students will usually be required to sit our entrance exams in English and Maths

The Discovery Years applicants-

Two-Year IGCSE applicants-

  • September entry only

Fees

Scholarships

Years 7-11 scholarships: Years 7-11 scholarships include Academic, Art, Drama and Music. The financial value of these awards is up to a maximum of 20% of tuition fees.

Sixth Form scholarships: Sixth Form scholarships include Academic, Art, Drama, Media, Music, Sport, and the Tennis Academy. The financial value of these awards is up to a maximum of 25% of tuition fees.
