Swimming
From the age of 3, children have the opportunity to swim in small structured classes on a weekly basis with our highly-experienced Level 2 ASA swimming teacher. These lessons take place during the school day in our purpose-built teaching pool at Cranford House.Developing water skills from an early age helps children grow in confidence both in and out of the water, whilst improving co-ordination and self-awareness. Play is an essential part of learning and the children experiment with various toys and activities as part of the structured lessons.
Sport
Sport sits firmly at the heart of the curriculum within our busy, vibrant Junior School, providing our pupils with the opportunity to learn new skills, challenge themselves, work as a team and simply have fun. From the youngest age, pupils are encouraged to engage in the broadest range of physical activities, from Hockey to Football, Netball to Cricket, Gymnastics, Rugby, Swimming and much more besides. The team of specialist PE teachers and coaches provide our pupils with expert coaching, to develop their skills and build their understanding of the benefits of health and fitness. The inclusive approach to sport enables all pupils across the Junior School to participate in fixtures and competitive matches, via both our vibrant House system and as a member of one of our many school teams.
Music
Cranford House pupils are enthused with a love of music right from their first days in Nursery where they are encouraged to play and explore with music and movement. As pupils progress through the Junior School they enjoy expert teaching by the specialist music teachers, led by our inspirational Director of Music. At the lower end of Junior School, pupils learn to play the violin and recorder during their music lessons, while in Years 5 and 6 they use the electric keyboards and are encouraged to bring in their own instruments.

The Governors of Cranford House are committed to broadening access to the School by offering eligible parents means-tested financial support (a bursary) with the payment of school fees.
