Churchfields Junior School is a State Primary school for kids aged 7 to 11 (Gender - Mixed). An education at Churchfields is broadly traditional, academic and rigorous. They want to provide pupils with an education that equips them with the knowledge, skills, cultural capital and confidence they will need to thrive in their next stage of schooling, university and beyond. They work hard to provide excellence and expect pupils at school and at home to work hard too.  They want parents and carers to play an active part in their child’s education and to support the staff. They provide a school where pupils can concentrate and where they feel safe to work hard and learn from excellent teaching and a rich curriculum.

Curriculum: They want to see all the pupils thrive as successful learners socially and academically through high quality teaching and an enriched, knowledge led curriculum. They aim to develop independent, thinking children who are ambitious, emotionally equipped and confident enough to make good life choices. They encourage the pupils to relate well to one another with confidence, care, openness and respect. They aim to meet the needs of all learners in the curriculum, challenging them and enabling them to critically think, problem solve and undertake learning at a deeper level. They want all pupils to develop Cultural Capital. To have the knowledge, behaviours and skills to face the future with confidence.

  • Clubs: The extensive range of extra-curricular opportunities offered to pupils promotes their personal development, sporting excellence and cultural enrichment. They strongly encourage pupils to lead clubs and activities for others. Pupils have a well-developed sense of responsibility and the opportunity to run a club is a unique aspect of Churchfields Junior School.
  • Special Educational Needs and Disability: They offer an inclusive learning environment and culture to support all of the pupils make the best possible progress, whatever their needs or abilities. The guiding principle is one of inclusion. Inclusion does not mean treating all pupils equally; it means treating all pupils as individuals and ensuring they have the required provision to achieve the best possible progress.
