At Aurora Hedgeway, they offer every student the chance to explore and fulfil their own unique potential. With provision running from Key Stage 2 all the way through to post-16,  they are set up to support children and young people at every stage of their academic journey. The broad and balanced curriculum is designed by ‘stage’ rather than ‘age’, allowing each student to learn alongside others with similar skills and abilities, while our focus on social and emotional support helps the students to develop both confidence and independence. By the time they leave them, the students are ready to tackle the next challenges of adulthood – whether that’s through further education, training or employment.

Curriculum
They offer flexible, tailored programmes of learning at Aurora Hedgeway, enabling each student’s education to fit around their own needs and learning styles. Learning at Key Stages 2 and 3 is centred on the National Curriculum, with core subjects being English, Maths, Science, PSHCE and PE.  This is supported by Geography, History, Computing, SEAL, Personal Development, Music and Art and Food technology, which are taught through a mixture of timetabled lessons and project-based learning.  They teach to stage not age to ensure that the learning is differentiated to each child.At Key Stage 4, all pupils can gain accreditations in English, Maths and Science at Entry level, Functional Skills and GCSE.  They also offer GCSE Art and ASDAN Units as an option.All pupils from aged 14 and above have Careers Education and Preparation for Adulthood sessions.  All pupils from Year 11, students have the opportunity to achieve a range of post-16 academic and vocational qualifications in addition to further qualifications in English, Maths and Science. They offer timetabled outdoor learning sessions which incorporate forest school, applied science and design and technology themes, throughout each Key Stage. They also encourage students to develop their sense of community through participation in School Council, Pupil Assembly, Lunchtime Clubs and School Library.

Set on a two-acre site near Bristol, our purpose-built school is designed to meet the unique needs of our students. The on-site facilities include: Sensory room, Music room, Food technology kitchen, Hardcourt and playground area, Forest School and horticulture garden. The students also regularly access sports, leisure and cultural facilities in the busy, diverse city of Bristol and its surrounding areas. They offer a range of integrated therapy services, including occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, music therapy and clinical psychology.
