  • Fun for Kids: Kids love hands-on activities, things to do on a rainy day and you love things to entertain them when they’re at home. On a visit to Weston Museum, you’ll find interesting activities and events, and we also have some fun activities and digital resources to bring the Museum home to you.
  • Mini Explorer Backpacks: At the museum we have backpacks available to borrow during your visit, free of charge. These contain a range of multi-sensory items to encourage your children to explore the galleries in a fun and accessible way. They are great for children under 5 or for children with SEND requirements.
  • Community Gallery: Weston Museum’s Community Gallery tells the story of Weston and its people. Weston super Mare is home to a broad cross-section of communities and each one has a story to tell. Our work with community groups has allowed us to share their stories with locals and visitors alike.

Private and Corporate Hire

The Courtyard: At the heart of the Museum is the Courtyard. From the cobbled floor to the striking glass roof, this truly unique space gives off the ‘wow factor’ that you are looking for in your chosen event. 
Please Note: The Courtyard is only available for hire after opening hours, or for week-long exhibitions. This is because the Courtyard is the main hub of the Museum and is needed for the public to access all of our facilities.

  • Capacity: 100 (capacity will change depending on layout)
  • Dimensions: 19m x 7m

Function Suite: Our newly refurbished Function Suite can be found on the first floor of the Museum, through the Tides of Change (art gallery) foyer.This space is excellent for meetings, community groups and wedding ceremonies, and can be supplied with tables and chairs, and the use of a projector, lectern or flip chart on request. 

  • Capacity: 35 (capacity will change depending on layout)
  • Daytime hire – £25.00 per hour (for evening rates please contact us)

The Learning Space: The Learning Space is located on the ground floor of the Museum, adjacent to the Courtyard.Its setup lends itself to being the ideal place for your conference or meeting, with a solid Wi-Fi connection and a projector available. The room can also be supplied with tables and chairs, and the use of a lectern, flip chart or other meeting materials on request.

  • Capacity: 40 (capacity will change depending on layout)
  • Daytime £30.00 per hour (for evening rates please contact us)

  • Train: The train station is a 10 min walk from the Museum. – Cross the road so the Tesco is behind you. Head down Alfred Street which is almost opposite Tesco, then take a left onto Burlington Street and you’ll see the Museum.
  • Bus: There are buses that serve the local area for more information and a time table click HERE
  • Walking from The Grand Pier: This walk will take 7 mins. Head down Regent Street which is directly opposite the Pier. Once you see the bright yellow chicken mural start heading left down Meadow Street. You’ll then take the 4th left onto Orchard Street. Then look to your right for Burlington Street and you’ll see us.
  • Cycling: There is one bike rack outside the Museum.
  • Car Parking: There is on-street meter parking around the Museum. The closest car park is the Sovereign Centre.
