Features

  • The Descent: Join our resident Lift Jester as you begin your descent into the Dungeon via our medieval lift. This cheerful rascal will prepare you for 1,000 years of hysterically horrible history. It all starts here, guv'na! Hear the grinding cogs and chains as the winches strain on your way down. If you're lucky, you'll arrive safely at the river docks of the Thames but if you're not...well, we dread to to think.
  • Conspirators Walk: The Gun Powder plot is nearly afoot and there are traitors everywhere…  A servant to one of the central conspirators in the Gunpowder Plot wants to rock the foundations of this country, ridding ourselves once and for all of King James and his Government! Will you help them?
  • Guy Fawkes' Gunpowder Plot: Beyond the city gates you enter a dark, rat-infested tunnel that winds back beneath the city of London. Dare you proceed? Of course you do, you've come to the London Dungeon! Not only are you brave and of higher than average intelligence, you're good looking. Of course you dare.
  • The Torturer Chamber: Abandon all hope, as you find yourself in the Torture Chamber. The Torturer is looking for 'volunteers'. Anyone need a good stretch? Let's be honest. The Torturer is a craftsman... at least they use tools. Also, they are very practically minded and LOVES to teach - usually by demonstration.
  • Pest House: You’ve strolled along the stinking streets of London in 1665 with death and disease surrounding you, but it’s not only the plague you’ve got to survive... The bailiff has led you to a deserted pesthouse where you’ll spend 40 days and nights to escape the outbreak, however the nurses have other ideas and want you dead now so they can get their grubby hands on your belongings. Stay together and try to keep quiet so they don’t find you.
  • The Plague Doctor: It's 1665 and the Black Plague is rife. Wander down the winding muddy alley past houses with red crosses, rotting bodies and black rats. Then you'll meet the Plague Doctor. Oh wait... he's dead. Let's not worry, the assistant is in charge and on the lookout for those infected.
  • Curse of the Witch: You’ll enter the bowels of Newgate Prison and witness Elizabeth Sawyer, The Witch of Edmonton, awaiting her execution. She has already confessed and been convicted of conversing with the Devil with her own neighbours turning on her after the sudden illness and death of someone seen arguing with Sawyer only the week before. Coincidence? You're betting your life on it.
  • Mrs Lovett's Pie Shop: Mrs Lovett welcomes you from a stinking Fleet Street into her famous pie shop. She makes the best pies in all of London. She might even make YOU a pie! She's a gentle soul, except for the odd word when she becomes just a tad unhinged. Let's just say she's every so slightly in love with her very good friend Sweeney Todd, the infamous Fleet Street barber. Whatever you do, for your own sake, don't flirt with him!
  • Sweeney Todd: Fancy a short back and sides? Looking for a hair cut? Sweeney Todd can see you now and Mrs Lovett's assistant is more than happy to show you in. You've each got your own seat in the barbershop - how kind of Sweeney to be so accommodating! Mrs Lovett's assistant seems slightly on edge though... wonder why? What's that noise? Mrs Lovett's getting the ovens fired up? That's odd... nevermind, we're sure it's nothing.
  • Mitre Square: It's 1888 in the foggy gas lit streets of London's Whitechapel and you can smell the fear in the air as a murderer is on the loose. Mary Jane Kelly takes you through the devastating details of the recent Whitechapel murders. You know his name, but do you know theirs? Mary Ann Nichols. Annie Chapman. Elizabeth Stride. Catherine Eddowes. Real women, with real lives. But hang on, what was that noise? Did you see that shadow?
  • Whitechapel Labyrinth: Oh no, The Ripper strikes again! Poor Mary Jane. Quickly! There's no time to hang around, a storm is approaching and the dark streets are no longer safe. The only way to safety is through the Whitechapel Labyrinth, a confusing maze of narrow streets. You'll feel like you're going round in circles (haha, you are!) but whatever you do, stay as far away from the screams as possible... move quickly now, no really... HURRY!
  • Jack The Ripper: Welcome to the Ten Bells Pub, come in from the storm. Have a pint (don't mind if we do) and settle those nerves. However this is no ordinary pub, this is the Ten Bells where Jack the Ripper's victims once drank. Let Waldren, owner of the 10 Bells, tell you the ultimate ghost story on a stormy night. Who was Jack the Ripper and will he strike again?
  • The Courtroom: You must be guilty or very guilty to find yourself in this court room and the Judge has little time for your excuses, he's due back in the pub! Who will get pulled up into the dock to confess their crimes? Who did a naughty dance on Westminster Bridge? Who stole a sheep? and worst of all, who's an accomplice to Big Dick Turpin? The big question is, how will you plead? Guilty... or Very Guilty?
  • Drop Dead-Drop Ride: Welcome to the Newgate Gallows. It's 1783 and here's an exciting first. The Long Drop is to be used for the first time outside Newgate Prison... Lucky you. You had better put on a good show/death for the awaiting crowds. Your executioner will show you the 'ropes'. LOL.
  • The Tavern: With your heart still pumping from your time in the Dungeon, collapse into a well-cushioned chair in our vibrant, decadent and dodgy Victorian pub of 1896. Enjoy one of your favourite beers, a delectable gin and tonic or perhaps a themed cocktail.
