In the 18th century, limes, horse chestnuts, walnuts and sycamore were carefully planted to enhance the setting of the manor and create a landscape which reflects the setting of the estate in the Chiltern Hills. Facilities

Parking: Included in admission charge. Follow signs to main car park which will open at 10.00am. Entrance to car park locked at 4.30pm. Disabled spaces available.
Dogs allowed: Dogs on leads and under close control are allowed in the formal gardens, the orchard, the parkland and at the Stableyard Café. Only assistance dogs are allowed inside the house.

  • By road: 1½ miles north of High Wycombe; on the west side of Valley Road. From the M40 exit 4, take the A404 towards High Wycombe, follow signs to Eden shopping centre, then take the A4128 towards Great Missenden. Follow the brown signs. Postcode: HP14 4LA.
  • By train: High Wycombe train station is just under 2 miles from Hughenden, or alternatively the Redline 300 bus can be taken from the bus station on Bridge Street, which is about a half-mile walk from the train station. A short taxi ride from the station (about 12 mins) saves a steep walk up the hill from the bus stop if you arrive by bus.
  • By bus: Redline 300 buses stop at the bottom of the drive to Hughenden; there is a steep walk to the house up the hill.
  • On foot: 1½ miles from High Wycombe. Hughenden is crossed by a number of footpaths. It is possible to walk from High Wycombe and a number of the surrounding villages. If walking from High Wycombe, it is possible to walk down the Valley Road, or across the parkland. Follow signs to the Visitor Reception on arrival. 
  • Parking: Included in admission charge. Follow signs to main car park which will open at 10.00am. Entrance to car park locked at 4.30pm. Disabled spaces available.
