As an educational charity, every visit helps preserve and share the history of motoring for future generations. The Museum has been the custodian of a unique and eclectic collection of vehicles since 1985.

  • Our Collection: From an 1898 Daimler Wagonette to a prototype electric bubble car, our Collection spans more than a century of motoring history.
  • Outdoor Car Displays: From May to September watch our cars come to life in our Outdoor Car Displays. From the humble Nissan Micra to the small but mighty Heinkel Kabine, watch our vehicles parade in the Paddock before getting a closer look inside the cars and chatting to our volunteers. 
  • Haynes Breakfast Club: On the first Sunday of the month, we bring together like-minded motoring enthusiasts to meet and share their automotive passion. 

Karting: Karting at Haynes is available every day throughout the year, based on the full Test Circuit, it is ideally situated adjacent to the Museum; perfect for combining a trip to the Museum with a few laps of the track!

Facilities

  • Parking: We have 8 Pod Point charging points in the overflow car park, for those travelling in an electric or hybrid car. Please note, you need to provide your own charging cable.
  • Food & Drinks: Café 750 is located within the Museum and is open to both Museum visitors and the general public. We serve a variety of hot and cold drinks, including barista coffee, and a range of sweet treats.

  • By Car: We are located in Sparkford near Yeovil, just off the A303 and 30 minutes from junction 25 of the M5. High-profile brown tourist signs from all major trunk roads provide easy-to-follow directions to the Museum.
  • By Train: The main line station at Castle Cary is 5 miles from the Museum, with its high speed link between Paddington and Penzance. The line also serves a regular daily route between Bristol and Weymouth with regular stops at Yeovil.
  • By Bus: There are regular bus services to Sparkford Village from Castle Cary and Yeovil.
