Screech Owl Sanctuary & Animal Park
5.94 miles
The Cornish Birds of Prey Centre in Cornwall is a sanctuary dedicated to rescuing and caring for mistreated, unwanted, injured, and neglected birds of prey, as well as other animals. Unlike commercial centres, they do not breed or sell birds, focusing instead on providing a permanent safe haven. Funding comes entirely from visitors, sponsors, and donors, ensuring the centre can continue its mission year-round.
Visitors can explore the beautiful countryside setting, home to golden eagles, owls, falcons, hawks, parrots, and other animals like alpacas, pigs, sheep, goats, ponies, emus, and a cow. There’s also a tearoom with indoor and outdoor seating, a small gift shop, and picnic areas. The centre is wheelchair accessible except for the nature trail, lake, and moorland walk.
Admission prices are £5 for adults, children (5+), and concessions, while under-5s go free.
A visit offers a unique opportunity to support a genuine rescue mission while enjoying close-up encounters with a variety of animals. The welcoming atmosphere, scenic surroundings, and dedication to animal welfare make it a memorable and meaningful experience for all ages.
