Yarrow Heights School is a mixed SEN day school, providing an integrated therapeutic model for pupils aged 7-16 whose needs cannot be met in mainstream provision. They work in partnership with local authorities and parents to provide the right social, sensory and educational framework to allow children to flourish who might otherwise be unable to attend school. The unique model offers an Enhanced Curriculum across an Extended Day, and our in-house therapy team provide a personalised plan for each child.Yarrow Heights puts the individual pupil at the centre of our service. They have strictly limited class sizes, with a combination of specialist teachers, teaching assistants and therapists in each class. The school has been designed to meet the needs of pupils with Autistic Spectrum Conditions, with particular focus on their social, emotional, mental health and sensory needs

CURRICULUM OVERVIEW
At Yarrow Heights, they aim to provide a broad curriculum that enables all pupils to achieve academically, as well as explore new and exciting avenues for learning. To this end, our curriculum is comprised of both traditional core subjects (English, Maths, Science, IT, PE, and Humanities) as well as other, more unique opportunities designed to broaden our pupils’ horizons. For example, our Enrichment programme features activities such as: crocheting and textiles, hair and beauty, foreign language study, pottery making and horticulture.Another important addition to the curriculum offering is PSHE (Personal, Social, Health, and Economic education), of which each pupil receives two lessons per week. Furthermore, the themes discussed in PSHE lessons are embedded in all aspects of the wider curriculum in order to keep the subject prescient in the pupils’ minds. They feel that PSHE is a fundamental aspect of a broad curriculum, as the issues discussed in these lessons will prepare pupils for life in the wider world.
