NURSERY-YEAR 2
They welcome children from the age of 3-7 into our Pre-Prep School, giving them a head start on their educational journey. The recently refurbished Early Years Foundation Stage building for both the Nursery Class and Reception Class provides the perfect environment for children to thrive and sets the foundations of learning before pupils move on up to Year 1 and Year 2. All our class sizes are small meaning each and every child gets the individualised attention they deserve.In the key development years from pre-school to Year 2, they offer the best in care and educational provision with first-class facilities and small classes taught by specialist Early Years teachers. Music, Art, PE and daily outdoor learning are encouraged come rain or shine. While Forest School is included for all as part of the curriculum as is swimming (for pre-Reception year children onwards).
YEARS 3-8
Wycliffe Prep School aims to promote a pioneering spirit and encourage individuals to flourish and embrace their futures as global citizens. Children are given the opportunity to thrive through a robust and challenging academic curriculum, and extra-curricular activities in these key years of academic life from the ages of 7-13. Whether your child is moving on from our Pre-Prep School or coming to us from somewhere else, our excellent pastoral care programmes are designed to make sure every child is supported and happy. The Prep School lays the foundations for pupils to flourish, and prepare themselves for Senior School; fostering a lifelong enjoyment of education and preparing them for the outside world.
YEARS 9-13
With approximately 420 pupils from Year 9 to Year 13, Wycliffe Senior School in Gloucestershire is a perfect size – small enough that all pupils are known and valued, and with superior facilities to give a diverse extra-curricular programme and deliver an academic curriculum of great choice. Pupils join the Senior School upon leaving the Prep School in Year 8. We engender in our pupils a ‘pioneering spirit’, confidence to be individual, and a global outlook so that they leave them fully prepared for an ever-changing world. They at Wycliffe believe that the robust, enhanced curriculum and excellent pastoral care, as well as extensive extracurricular activities, can help students achieve their full potential regardless of their background or initial learning stage. Pupils at Wycliffe are nurtured to develop a confident and independent skill set to thrive in an ever-changing world. Enriching extra-curricular activities
The Wycliffe experience is more than what happens in the classroom. We nurture mind, body and soul through our diverse extra-curricular programme: we offer a wide range of clubs from traditional skills such as cooking, to the 21st Century ones of Cryptology and Green Car Racing. With more than 60 activities running every week of the year, pupils have the opportunity to stretch their ‘pioneering spirit’ and try something they may never have considered before.
Outside the Classroom
The extra curricular provision at Wycliffe is wide-reaching and all-encompassing – with something for everyone. Whether your son or daughter likes to build robots, run cross-country, sing, sew, debate or read, there is something for them to enjoy. In addition, they will be encouraged to try new activities to take them out of their comfort zonePupils gain so much incidental knowledge through our Trips and Expedition days. Recent expeditions include; Hooke Court Farm Experience, Paris, the Year 8 Sports Tour, York, Cotswold Water Park, camping, Cheltenham Festivals and much more. Trips with their year group form an important part of the curriculum for each pupil – to explore, and to learn independence, respect, resilience and have fun!
