Vita et Pax Preparatory School is Co-Ed Independent school based in Enfield, North London. They admit children of many faiths, providing a Christian education in which worship of God, gospel values, awareness of other faiths and sensitivity for others are central to the life of the school.They are a caring community that strives to enable each child to realise their full potential - spiritually, academically, personally and physically. The school, staff members and our pupils pride themselves on being a part of our local community. We welcome every student coming from our neighbouring towns of New Barnet and Whetstone. NURSERY
The Vita et Pax Nursery is dedicated to giving every child the best academic start to life in a happy and fun-filled environment. From the age of 3, our Nursery provides the highest level of nurture for children to confidently develop learning tools for their future. Our individualised learning with high academic standards focuses on the child being the centre of the learning journey. Planning around the child's interests ensures that every child can be their unique self as they flourish.
EARLY YEARS FOUNDATION STAGE (EYFS)
The early years foundation stage (EYFS) sets standards for the learning, development and care of your child up to 5 years old. Your child will mostly be taught through structured games and play and their learning will be developed around their interests.
INFANTS
In Year 1, the Inspire Mathematics scheme is continued from Reception. This is based on the Singapore Maths programme which promotes a concrete - pictorial - abstract approach, ensuring secure foundations and deep understanding of mathematical concepts. High-quality pupil textbooks introduce concepts in a highly scaffolded way, enabling all children to become assured mathematicians.
JUNIORS
Moving into Key Stage 2, the children continue to be challenged by an exciting curriculum and are taught to become increasingly self-motivated learners. The children are encouraged to persevere, and two and three step word problems feature in Maths to challenge depth and mastery.

SPORT
Children at Vita are taught a wide range of sporting activities during PE lessons and extra curricular sports clubs. In EYFS our pupils take part in Gymnastics, Dance and Ball & Games Skills. In KS2 lessons include Netball, Football, Hockey, Rugby, Gymnastics and Cross County in the autumn and spring terms and Tennis, Rounders, Cricket and Athletics in the summer.The year 3 children have weekly swimming lessons at a local pool, with a gala at the end of the school year. Children also take part in competitive sporting events across the local borough. These include the annual District Sports Athletic Event at Lea Valley and the District Cross Country Competition as well as entering teams in the borough Netball, Football and Rounders leagues.
MUSIC
Music gives us so much in life; creativity and expression, to confidence, social skills and even math skills. Music feeds mind, body and soul. It is one of the most important things for the brain. At Vita et Pax each year group, from nursery to year six, benefit from weekly music lessons where they learn about Music composition and theory.
SEN/EAL
Vita et Pax aims to provide a safe, inclusive learning environment for those pupils with English as an additional language, taking into account their language needs, learning needs and social needs. Vita et Pax Prep School respects the cultural heritage of all its pupils and endeavours to educate the wider school community about different cultures through humanities, assemblies, PSHE and STEAM.
