Curriculum 
At King Edward VI Academy they have an outstanding and diverse curriculum which aspires to respond to the local and national agenda in order to ensure all our students receive a high-quality learning experience at all times.They value the acquisition of powerful knowledge, as a goal in itself, as an entitlement for all children.  We invest significant time and resources into ensuring that all students gain a broad knowledge base to enable them to become active members of their community in the future.

Sixth Form
The aim is to offer the very best education possible to our young people in order to prepare them for the next step in their lives, whether that is studying at university, further training or the world of work.A brand new purpose-built Sixth Form centre, sponsored by the David Ross Foundation, opened at King Edward VI Academy in September 2014, offering a range of courses for Year 12 and 13 students. Facilities include two learning pods, a careers guidance area and a student social area. They have created an expanded Sixth Form offer to meet our student's need, this includes level 3 courses in Maths, English, Science, History, Art, Performing Arts, Business, Finance, Tourism and Sports Studies, Law, as well as a range of enrichment and developmental activities.

Co-curricular
They offer lots of activities and clubs so that students can discover their passions and interests inside and outside the classroom. The academy offers a wide range of music activities, which develop the all-round potential of our students. A range of music teachers visit the academy and lessons are offered free of charge in woodwind, brass, keyboard, guitar, percussion, violin and voice. It is our aim that, through curriculum-based lessons, our students will experience a wide variety of musical education and have ample opportunities to participate in practical and theatrical work.

Special educational needs and disability (SEND)
They believe that at King Edward’s every student should have the opportunities to be successful and all staff work together to ensure that the needs of individuals are catered for socially and academically. We see the role of parents as vital and working in partnership with parents we can achieve more for our students than by working in isolation.
