The Croft Preparatory School is Independent Primary school in Warwickshire for kids aged 3 to 11 (Gender - Mixed )
The School’s mission is to provide each child with academic challenge and the opportunity to succeed and develop a sense of self-worth, whilst nurturing a lifelong love of learning in a happy and secure environment.Creating the rounded individual is something that many schools pride themselves upon, and The Croft is no exception; the main difference is how they achieve this. At the school, every child is educated as an individual, and fully supported, to challenge themselves to fulfil their potential, adopting a Growth Mindset along the way. All of this is achieved through a wonderfully compassionate and motivational Staff, who deliver the highest standards of pastoral care and academic excellence.
Early Years
They believe that every child is an individual who develops at his or her own rate. Exceptional nurturing and outstanding teaching in Early Years, enables every child to achieve their full potential. The team of six Early Years Teachers lead the learning from age 3 to the end of the Reception year, supported by dedicated Early Years Assistants. They enable plentiful outdoor and indoor learning opportunities on a daily basis, making regular use of the 30 acres of school grounds, as well as accessing the School’s specialist teachers and resources to facilitate children’s learning. Your child will be empowered to develop their self-confidence and self-esteem, as well as independence.
Years 1 to 6
The children’s learning experiences are delivered through the five faculties: Languages; STEM; Humanities; Creative Arts; and Emotional and Physical Development. These faculties facilitate an innovative approach to preparatory education and ensure The Croft remains at the forefront of educational initiatives. The Heads of Faculty strategically align the subjects within the faculty, whilst overseeing a stimulating curriculum for each aspect, further enhanced by faculty specific enrichment days during the year, and cross-curricular themed projects and activities.
SEND
At The Croft, they are committed to supporting your child through every step of their school journey; this could be academic, physical, social and emotional, or communication. The Support Team is located in The Clock Tower and is led by the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo). They have a number of specialists on our staff who support the children with their specific needs. All the Learning Assistants are also trained to deliver in class interventions, supported by the Support Team. Following this approach, they ensure all the children do full justice to their abilities.

At Croft Preparatory School they are fortunate to have there own extensive Forest School site, which allows all of the pupils to embrace and interact with their natural environment. The aims during Forest School sessions are to progress children’s holistic development, and encourage resilience, confidence, independence and creativity. The children are taught important Forest School rules which allow them to participate in child and teacher led activities with independence and energy. They are encouraged to follow their own interests in Forest School, but are also taught new skills to allow them to explore their own ideas and surroundings. The Forest School is used all year round and is a wonderful way for children to witness the wonders of nature and how the environment changes from season to season.

The Thornton Scholarship Examination takes place in the Lent Term and is open to children who will be moving into Year 3 the following September. The Thornton Scholarship, offered by the school, may be up to a maximum of 50% of the school fees, although the actual percentage will depend upon the standard attained. The scholarship standard is not easy to achieve, as the school is looking for children of exceptional academic ability. Although this exam is open to all, it is set at scholarship level and we recommend that only children attaining a standardised score of 120 (or equivalent) on a recognised formal assessment test should be entered.
