Sycamore Hall Preparatory School is a small, well established independent school for boys and girls between the ages of 3 and 11. The school offers pupils a unique educational experience in a caring, family atmosphere. The school provides a traditional style education based on the principles of honesty, integrity and hard work. Throughout the school pupils are encouraged to set themselves high standards with regards to academic work and behaviour and to maintain the school’s happy, family atmosphere.  The school’s reputation is built on a friendly, welcoming environment, together with high standards in behaviour and academic achievement to produce confident but considerate pupils.

Facilities

  • Everyone at Sycamore Hall has the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of competitive and non-competitive sporting activities.
  • In winter we enjoy Rounder, Hockey, Football and Cross Country along with indoor Team games, including obstacle courses.
  • In summer we have Swimming, Tennis and Athletics.
  • There is also a weekly Movement and Dance session.
  • A particular feature of the School curriculum is traditional Maypole Dancing and Country Dancing and our Mayday celebrations are one of our highlights of the year!
  • Sports Day is a wonderful opportunity for children to put their well-practised skills to good use in a competitive environment!

Things to note

  • After school care is available from 3.45 p.m. until 6.00 p.m. during which time children may complete their homework then join in the various activities such as Cinema Night, Reading Night and Art Night.
  • Refreshments are available for pupils staying late.
  • Children may participate in a wide range of activities during lunchtime, including Traditional Toys Club, Chess Club and Gardening Club. Our Drama and Dance Club culminates in an Annual Stage Production.
  • In addition, children are given the opportunity to care for a wide range of animals and take full responsibility for their welfare.
  • Summer School: During the summer break we provide a varied daily programme of activities for our pupils, including Art, Drama and Sport.
