The St John’s admissions process is designed to identify the girls and boys who will thrive in the school, who will enjoy the breadth of opportunity on offer and who will contribute to the rich variety of school life.
St John’s offers three main points of entry for girls and boys:
11+ Lower Third (Year 7)
13+ Fourth Form (Year 9)
16+ Lower Sixth (Year 12)
Occasionally places might be available for entry into other year groups.
When you have decided that you wish to proceed with an application, you will register your child (relevant deadlines apply and can be found on the 11+, 13+ and 16+ pages) and the admissions process begins.

St John’s School offers a number of scholarships to candidates who demonstrate leadership and excellence in their specified field and also possess the potential to further develop in their time at St John’s. They are pleased to award academic, art, drama, design and engineering, music, sport and all-rounder scholarships to recognise talent and commitment in these areas. It is expected that any candidate awarded a scholarship should maintain a level of excellence and commitment to that area of school life.

Candidates are welcome to apply for more than one scholarship. Applications, payment and supporting information must be submitted by the relevant closing date:
Following application, candidates will be provided with details of the assessment dates which take place in January for 11+, February for 13+ and November for 16+. All scholarship assessments take place at St John’s and are overseen by heads of department. Candidates are encouraged to contact the relevant head of department for clarification on any particular discipline.
