Pownall Green Primary School is a state primary school for kids age 4 - 11 (Gender - Mixed)

At Pownall Green Primary School they believe in creating the foundations on which children can build their futures. A love for learning starts early and our innovative approach captures this and enables the children to grow into confident, independent, successful and happy individuals. The creative curriculum equips children with the knowledge, understanding and basic skills they will need as they continue their learning journey through primary school and beyond. They place great emphasis on the parallel development of children’s Personal, Learning and Thinking Skills, firmly believing that these are fundamental in enabling them to achieve success in all aspects of their future lives in our rapidly changing world. They provide a creative and stimulating learning environment within which they expect the learners to aim for and achieve the highest possible standards in all they do. Pownall Green Primary School is a happy, vibrant and successful community.

Curriculum
The schemes of work for each subject set out the aims , knowledge and understanding to be developed at each stage. The Personal, Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS) framework is infused throughout our curriculum . The PLTS framework sets out the skills they aim to develop at each phase. Personal, Learning and Thinking Skills extend our curriculum beyond the academic to foster a love of learning, enabling children to develop transferrable life skills so they become,  Independent Enquirers, Creative Thinkers, Team workers, Self Managers, Effective Participators, Reflective Learners. The end points for each year group in reading, writing, mathematics and science are made clear in our DOLI grids (Depth of Learning Indicators). The end points for each year group in the foundation subjects are made clear in our ‘Assessing the Foundation Subjects’ booklet. Inclusion and SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) at Pownall Green
Pownall Green Primary School continually seeks to be fully inclusive, striving to enable all pupils to feel confident and to achieve the best they can at school. All pupils have access to a broad and balanced curriculum appropriate to their needs. Teaching and learning approaches are adapted to the differing needs of pupils within each lesson. Sometimes, some pupils need additional learning support. Sometimes, some pupils need some additional support to develop their social skills or to enhance their emotional wellbeing. Teachers identify concerns through ongoing assessment and observation, and through communication with parents / carers. Many pupils require some extra help at some point in their school life. This is readily provided and a wide range of additional needs can be met through Inclusive Quality First Teaching.
