Oakwood Park Grammar School is leading State Secondary school in Maidstone. This is a Selective school for kids age 11 to 18 years. Gender - Boys

Facilities

Curriculum
In Years 7 and 8, students complete a range of design and practical workshop based projects, which introduce them to the broad range of topic, skills and knowledge within Design and Technology.In Year 9, Design and Technology is run on a carousel with Art, Graphics, Music and Drama. All students study approximately 16 lessons in each subject.

Sixth Form
As student leaders of the school, Sixth Formers act as mentors and role models to pupils in lower years. As young adults, they are aiming high.  OFSTED rated OPGS Sixth Form as ‘Outstanding’ in our 2019 inspection. They noticed that our ‘students are very well-prepared for the next steps in their lives and education; and that they are ‘inspired by ‘teachers who are passionate about their subjects’. As a result, OPGS Sixth Formers will go on to take up places in top universities and blue-chip companies.The curriculum is varied and offers opportunities for challenge beyond the classroom. We seek to develop our students’ particular talents and interests through options like the Extended Project Qualification which allows them to write novels, sculpt, record music or experiment in the labs.

Selection Criteria: Selective

Admission Details

If you wish to appeal for a place in Year 7 for September 2022 please complete and return the Secondary School Appeal Form 2022 below directly to us by Monday 28th March 2022, marked for the attention of the Clerk to the Appeal Panel.  In the first instance, you can complete the form only, stating the reason why you are appealing for Oakwood Park, together with your son’s test scores.  You can send further supporting paperwork at a later date.
