Admission Details

Nursery: Upon receipt of your registration form, they will make an offer in writing to you for your daughter’s place in the Nursery. You and your daughter will be invited to the Nursery for three visits before she starts, to help her to settle in and to introduce her to routines. Girls registered are invited to join for ‘Taster Wednesday’, which runs every Wednesday from 9am – 10am during term time. This is a fantastic opportunity for new girls to settle into Nursery gradually.

Junior School:

  • Reception (age 4 – 5 years): Once they receive your daughter’s registration form, they will write to you to offer a place for your daughter in Reception. There is no assessment for entry into Reception class. Settle visits are arranged for June/July, when girls spend time with their peers and their teachers.
  • Years 1 – 6 (age 5 – 11 years): Girls are invited to spend a morning (Year 1) or a day (Years 2 – 6) with them, in a class with girls of her own age, for a ‘taster morning or a taster day’, during which time she will complete assessments in English, Mathematics and Reading. Feedback on your daughter’s time is shared with you and they offer places following the successful completion of our assessments. Further visits are arranged for the summer term, when your daughter will meet her peers and her new teacher. Girls who sit the entrance assessment for entry into Year 5 and Year 6 are, as a rule, offered automatic progression to our Senior School. Nearly all girls transfer to the Senior School at 11 for the next stage of their education.

Senior School: On the Year 7 Entrance Assessment Day, your daughter will sit one multiple choice paper in English and one in Mathematics. On the Year 9 Entrance Assessment Day, your daughter will complete assessments in Maths and English.

Sixth Form: Girls join Sixth Form from a wide range of schools. New entrants to the Sixth Form are expected to achieve at least five GCSEs at Grade 6 (or equivalent) or above, including in English and Mathematics. Details of A Level courses, Elective subjects on offer and specific entry requirements are available in Sixth Form Programme Guide.
