Facilities

Senior School Subjects
In the Fourth Form all pupils continue to study the core subjects of English, English Literature, Mathematics, Dual Award Science (Biology, Chemistry and Physics can also be taken as three separate GCSEs).The Religious Studies course, begun in the Third Form, leads to an assessed Lancing College qualification at the end of the Fourth Form. In addition, pupils take four optional subjects, one of which must be a Language (French, Spanish, German or Latin), and follow a course of PE and PSHE.

Academic Enrichment
Lancing’s wide range of enrichment activities is highly varied and is targeted at the Sixth Form, with some elements also available to pupils of all ages. The College has a proud tradition of creative, well-read, intellectual individualism which has provided many life-forming memories for our current and former pupils. Our long history of clubs and societies has spanned multiple decades. The Debating Society was formed in 1864 and remains a popular activity today.

All forms of sport keep pupils fit, build character and help to develop a healthy competitive spirit – qualities which are always useful, wherever you want to go in life.We encourage all our pupils, boys and girls, to compete to the best of their ability, from school competitions to national level, or simply recreationally. Hockey, Football, Netball, Tennis and Cricket are among the main sports played here at Lancing, but they are also very successful in Squash, Cross-Country, Basketball, Swimming, Horse Riding, Eton Fives, Golf, Dance, Fencing, Fishing, Sailing, Croquet, Riding, Badminton, Rounders, Water Polo, Aerobics & Fitness, Karate, Climbing, Volleyball, Shooting, and Rugby Sevens.

Performing Arts
Lancing has a strong and rich heritage across the Performing Arts and counts many well-known names in its alumni. The Scholarship Programme is designed to encourage and support talented new pupils to join Lancing and to take advantage of the opportunities and dedicated support available. Music and Drama are available to study at A Level, and many Sixth Form pupils continue their love of these subjects to complement other academic study through co-curricular options and the termly House and School-wide performances. The school welcomes and actively encourages involvement from all pupils, from beginners to those pupils wanting to develop and hone their skills.

Scholarships
The Lancing Scholarship programme enables us to work with parents and schools to identify and foster the potential of gifted children, ensuring that they receive the best possible opportunity to develop their talent. Every year potential Scholars come together for Scholarship assessment days at Lancing; Scholarships are awarded to candidates on the basis of excellence demonstrated through a competitive assessment process. The Awards are made irrespective of financial means and typically attract a fee remission of 5–10%.
