Early Years
The EYFS programme incorporates Nursery and Reception. During these essential years we establish solid foundations to develop a lifelong love of learning. They encourage students to see learning as a continuous journey where facing challenges builds both independence and resilience. We believe that learning should be a partnership between home and school. We foster strong relationships and open forms of communication between staff and families, including informal conversations at the end of the day, face to face meetings, telephone conversations.

Key Stage 1 & 2
At the King Fahad Academy we teach the national curriculum, enriched by an Islamic ethos. We work to instill a deep spiritual connection with God and nurture students who have integrity, are principled and are emotionally secure and intelligent. The curriculum is planned and sequenced to build on previous knowledge and is built towards defined end points. Phonics is taught using the ‘Letters and Sounds’ programme. The chosen curriculum provides academic breadth across a range of subjects and prepares them for the next stage of their learning. The programme is inclusive and ambitious and instills confidence for students to be agents of positive change in Great Britain and beyond. The cultural capital embedded in the programme equips students with knowledge that is beneficial for them throughout life. We incorporate SMSC (social, moral, spiritual and cultural) experiences as part of our education and we expect our students to be kind, reflective people and creative, curious learners.

Key Stage 3
At Key Stage 3 (Years 7 to 9) students study the following subjects: English, Mathematics,  Science, Arabic, Design & Technology, History, Geography, World Religions, Art, Drama,  Physical Education, Quran & Tilawa as well as taking part in weekly assemblies. Pupils study both English and Arabic languages, leading to accreditation in two languages at the end of Key Stage 4.

Key Stage 4
In Key Stage 4 (year 10 and 11), pupils follow a chosen programme of study for their GCSE courses. Most pupils take 10 GCSE examinations, studying a compulsory core of English, English literature, Arabic, mathematics, biology, chemistry and physics.

Key Stage 5
The requirements for entry to the KFA Sixth Form are: a minimum of four ‘A’ grades and three ‘B’ at GCSE. Experience has shown that in order to achieve a good grade at ALevel in some subjects, it may be necessary to have obtained at least a ‘B’, and often an ‘A’ grade, at GCSE orequivalent qualifications. Students wishing to study the BTEC are able to gain admission and are advised talk to their subject teacher and/or the Head of Department for further clarifications. Clearly, students are expected to demonstrate considerable initiative, study skills, personal interest and time management. These are the prerequisites for success in studies and in careers.
