Islamia Primary School is a voluntary aided primary, Islamic faith school in Queen's Park, London, England. The school is two form entry with approximately 420 pupils aged between the ages of 4 and 11. 

Facilities

  • Set in a classic purpose built school, we occupy the top two floors of a building shared with our primary school.
  • Recent upgrades have included two state-of-the-art science laboratories and a new fully equipped food technology room.
  • Almost all classrooms are equipped with multi-media projectors with interactive whiteboards and audio speakers and a PC for the teacher to facilitate the use of technological advancement in teaching, such as Active –Teach packages and e-learning resources. Some classrooms have several PC’s to allow students’ to access e-learning materials during lessons.
  • A luxuriously carpeted prayer hall allow students to pray in congregation during school hours.  It is also the main hall utilised for various activities including morning assemblies and the schools' productions, from Drama to Charity and Cultural evenings programmes. 
  • The school has a spacious ICT suit that reflects its commitment to provide modern education for its students and promote productive use of new technologies for learning. The ICT hardware, software and networks infrastructure provide an open-plan learning environment that has been designed to replicate office and studio environments.
  • An indoor, well-lit gymnasium allows students to have PE lessons in a secure, equipped space. The school also boasts full and inspiring library, which plays an important role in the life of our school. Having a number of networked computers linked to printers and scanners, permits students not only to borrow books and literature, but also to have access to online, electronic libraries and a tremendous amount of information, for both academic interests and entertainment.
  • For outdoor play, we have a large southern facing playground, and a courtyard for a more relaxed setting. Further breakout spaces around the school suite and the local Tiverton playing fields offer students even more opportunity for outdoor activities.·
  • Class sizes are kept to a maximum of twenty-five so that as much individual attention as possible can be given to each student. For certain subjects, when appropriate, class numbers may be considerably smaller.
  • The emphasis is on providing a first-class education in a secure environment where the individual student’s development is regularly monitored and assessed.

Admission Details

The application process has 4 Stages as outlined below:

STAGE 1: Making the Application: If you would like to apply to the school, you can download a school prospectus and the Application Form from this website. Please send your application in good time and preferably by the end of October.  Fees payable at this stage: None. Please note: The closing date for applications for 2022 - 2023 is Wednesday 24th November 2021.

STAGE 2: Entrance Examinations: Following receipt of your Application Form your child will be invited to sit for our Entrance Examinations. This will be a full day in which your child will take tests in English, Mathematics, Islamic Studies and Verbal Reasoning. The examinations are exclusive to our school and aim at testing both the attainment and the potential of prospective students. As part of our equal opportunities policy, the content and format of all examination papers, past and present, is confidential and will not be given to parents. Entrance Examinations are usually held at the end of November. You will be informed of the results in January. The registration fee for the admissions process is: £150 (Non refundable). The entrance examinations for applications for 2022 - 2023 will take place on Saturday 27th November 2021. 

STAGE 3: Interview Procedure: If your child has been successful in the Entrance Examinations, you will be invited for an interview shortly thereafter. Both Parents must attend the Interview with the child. If one Parent is absent, the interview will be cancelled by the school and rescheduled. At the interview or soon after, you will be informed if your child is to be offered a conditional place. Others will be placed on a waiting list to replace any child who may later withdraw.

STAGE 4: Offer of a Place & Enrolment: Once your child is offered a conditional place in the school, you will be sent documents including the School Contract, Home/School Agreement and a selection of school policies for your information. The conditional offer will become unconditional once you have signed the contract with the school and paid the requisite Admission Fee as detailed below. Details of the school uniform will also be provided to you at this stage. You will be required to complete and return all the required documentation so that your child can be enrolled on to the school. Following a successful application at the School, Parents will be issued with an Acceptance Fee invoice which will be made up of the corresponding term’s fee for the academic term the Student will be joining the School from (£2,350 in term 1 / £2,500 in term 2 / £2,650 in term 3) in addition to a one-off Administration Fee of £150 and a Security Deposit of £650 per Student. The acceptance fee for parents of students who will be starting in September 2022 will be £3150. The Security Deposit will be retained on the Students account until the Student leaves the School and will be credited to the final payment of fees and/or other sums due to the School upon leaving.

Scholarships

Parent charity, the Yusuf Islam Foundation, is making the Student Scholarship Programme available for the academic year 2022-2023. Please note that the school is not involved in the Scholarship Programme in any way and cannot accept any forms/paperwork to do with scholarships. The Scholarship provides assistance to parents in genuine financial difficulty, whose children are academically gifted. Please visit the Yusuf Islam Foundation Website for further details. The Scholarship is based on set criteria to obtain the most for students and the Schools. Scholarships can be up to 50% of a child’s school tuition fees, depending on the financial position of parents/guardians.

In order to qualify for consideration of the Scholarship award a child must:

  • Be an enrolled secondary school student of Islamia Schools Limited; or
  • Be a prospective student who has been accepted into the school with an offer letter from the school

To apply for the Scholarship a child must:

  • Demonstrate a strong overall academic background; and
  • Have a clear financial need
