Productions are staged in fully equipped professional facilities within a spacious new building. This comprises a Theatre with hydraulically operated orchestra pit, Studio Theatre, extensive backstage areas.
The Music Department comprises eight practice rooms, two music classrooms, a large concert space, an Apple Mac computer suite and Recording Studio.
Trips and educational visits to destinations both close to home and around the globe form an invaluable supplement to learning for pupils at IPS.

Things to note
The Creative Arts of Art, Dance and Music appear on the curriculum taught by specialist teachers with lessons imaginatively planned to link with class projects.The School of Music gives all pupils an opportunity to participate in a wide range of musical activities and all pupils sing and learn to play the recorder. Design Technology is taught each week from Prep 4. The pupils pursue projects in which they develop ideas, plan and make products and learn to work efficiently.
Beyond the classroom there is a wide variety of clubs and extra-curricular activities and events each term. These take place during lunchtime and after school. Musical highlights through the year include the annual Prep School Carol Service, Performers’ Platforms, String Concerts, Music assemblies and Drama productions.
Main intake into the Prep and Pre-Prep is in Kindergarten (4+) and Prep 3 (7+). Successful applicants joining the School at 7+ will be granted an automatic right of ‘safe passage’ into the Senior School into Senior 7 (11+). There are a few occasional places available at other entry points. Please contact the Registrar for more information on applying for occasional places.
