High Storrs School is State Secondary school for kids aged 11 to 18 (Gender - Mixed)

They welcome everyone with open arms and pride ourselves on our inclusive practice. Combined with this, with we deliver academic success, specialisms in Maths & Computing and Performing Arts and a wide range of extra-curricular activities. The students have a learning environment which is second to none, including new sports facilities, drama and dance studios, and new sixth form areas, as well as a new Learning Resource Centre, among others. It is the perfect environment to deepen your study of subjects you studied at GCSE or to embark upon new subjects.

Curriculum
The curriculum is a careful balance of knowledge and skills that leads students to successful examination outcomes as well as developing them as life-long learners and well-rounded individuals who are able to make valuable contributions to their communities. They run a weekly timetable with five 1 hour periods each day. Teaching is excellent across the board and Core subjects are particularly outstanding. The curriculum structure is based on a 2-year Key Stage 3 and a hybrid Y9 as part of a flexible 3-year model in Key Stage 4. Key Stage 5 is a 2-year model, with very few AS Levels being taken. However, the ‘Key Stage’ timings are somewhat arbitrary as they see the provision as a 5 year journey, or a seven year journey for those continuing to the sixth form.

The Special Educational Needs and Disability Co-Ordinator (SENDCO) leads a team of experienced professionals who support a cohort of students with the highest needs.
