Facilities

Nursery - 2-3 years old
The children are given the opportunity to build on key learning skills, such as listening, speaking, concentration and learning to work together with their peers in a happy, secure and peaceful environment. We use a successful Key Person system, so your child forms a secure emotional attachment and bond with one of our highly-qualified members of staff. In our afternoon sessions, we run different themes including cookery, yoga, swimming, gymnastics and forest school. A healthy lunch, made freshly on-site by our fully-qualified nutritionist can be provided.

Rising Reception - 3-4 years old
The children start Rising Reception at the age of three and this year ensures a smooth transition between Nursery and Reception. Our children follow a richly diverse and tailor-made EYFS curriculum, focusing on stimulating their development through communication and language, physical development and personal, social and emotional development. Everything we do is designed to provide active involvement and relevant first-hand opportunities, in an environment filled with possibilities. Our small class sizes and excellent pupil-teacher ratios mean we can focus on teaching small groups, with work designed for every pupil, to ensure your child’s learning is designed uniquely for them.

Reception - 4-5 years old
Your child’s happiness and success are at the heart of everything we do here at Glenesk and as your child takes the first formal steps along their educational journey, we will provide them with exceptional teaching, small class sizes and superb pastoral care. Like Nursery and Rising Reception, we continue to follow an enhanced EYFS curriculum, with an emphasis on first-hand learning and well-structured play activities enhanced with a range of rich learning experiences and activities.

Years 1 & 2 - 5-7 years old
The dedicated teachers offer rich and exciting experience with regular trips, visitors and plenty of opportunities for hands-on investigation and problem-solving. We place a great emphasis on courtesy, good manners and the ability to work and play as part of a team. We encourage children to have respect for their friends and their surroundings and to develop their independence. Children in Year 2 are also given posts of responsibility becoming House Captains, Librarians, Music Monitors, Eco-Monitors and Lunch Helpers. During Years 1 and 2, we also focus on preparing your child to sit entrance exams and attaining scholarships to the schools of your choice in Year 3. As specialists in pre-preparatory education, we are experts in getting the best out of your child, ensuring they reach their full potential.
