The specialist educational resource for learners age 5 to 14 years is designed to meet the needs of children and young people with Autism, as well as Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) conditions and associated behavioural difficulties. They are committed to safeguarding and our emphasis is on nurturing the individual child to enable them to achieve their full potential. The small, nurturing environment provides twelve places. Education is delivered individually or in small groups of usually, three learners. The highly skilled teachers and learning support assistants are passionate about developing young peoples’ knowledge, skills and education.

Curriculum
Compton Dundon School offers a broad and balanced curriculum that is based upon the National Curriculum. The curriculum is differentiated to meet the needs of each pupil to ensure that all material taught is appropriate, engaging and relevant. At Compton Dundon School they recognise that there is now a tremendous need to provide an alternative education to pupils with individual difficulties and/or for those whom the restrictive nature of the traditional academic curriculum is too stifling. To address this they have created a dynamic, engaging, relevant and coherent curriculum that stimulates the pupil’s development and lays the foundations for later study. The curriculum will also serve to prepare them for the transition into adulthood and provide the skills and flexibility for the rapidly changing world of work.
