Nursery
Auckland house day nursery has held a special place in our heart since it opened in 2009. The nursery is located in a leafy suburb close to Sefton Park. There is easy parking available and the nursery is close to transport links on a route into the city Centre. They are proud to provide dynamic, exciting and supportive early years services to children and families. They continually strive to achieve and maintain the highest standards in early years, in a supportive, caring and welcoming nursery. We provide exceptional early years care in a safe, nurturing and fulfilling environment whist inspiring children to grow and reach their full potential through key skills and values. The nursery consists of six beautiful rooms and two outdoor areas that are inviting and filled with inspiring resources to provoke children’s learning. With provision for 0-3 year olds, highly committed, qualified and caring practitioners and dedicated management, the children are fully supported in their learning at every stage of their development.
Pre Prep
The early years of a child’s education is critical in their overall personal development. At Auckland Pre-Prep we believe that making learning enjoyable at an early age stimulates a child’s ideas and passion for learning, and has a positive impact on their ability to master the solid foundations of reading, writing and number work on which all future learning is based.As a small, family school we find that children feel immediately comfortable in the happy, vibrant classrooms and do not find the transition from home or nursery overwhelming. The children also greatly benefit from plenty of individual attention and are supported by a qualified, full time teacher and teaching assistants. By the time children leave our Pre-Prep to enter Reception Year we would expect them to be 12 months ahead in reading, writing and numeracy.
Prep
The aim of Auckland College Prep School is to effectively prepare boys and girls from the age of 4 to 11 years for entry into secondary education and beyond. We build on the excellent foundations laid in the Pre Prep, so there is a strong continuity in their educational experience, and the warm relationships fostered between staff and pupils supports and encourage the pupils to fulfil their potential. The Prep School offers a unique educational and childcare programme which provides an outstanding independent education alongside inclusive 51 weeks childcare 7.30am to 6.00pm. The cost of the childcare during term time and holidays is included within the school fees, making it excellent value for parents. Providing this all-inclusive childcare gives the children continuity of care, and to parents it gives reassurance throughout the year.
Secondary School
The Secondary School (Year 7 through to Year 11) has a growing reputation for nurturing individual’s academic and personal development that effectively prepares the boys and girls for GCSE and other examinations. They welcome pupils from both across the region, and internationally. As a non selective school they pride ourselves in providing a safe and stimulating environment for learning. The small classes mean that students are able to form effective relationships with the specialist teachers and teaching staff that helps to develop their self-confidence and enjoyment in subject areas.

Things to note
BEYOND THE CLASSROOM
They encourage our pupils to be involved in activities that are offered outside of the school classroom as they will benefit the children’s learning as well as being fun for them. These activities enable children to develop new skills and make more friends through mixing socially with different children. We regularly change clubs to ensure different interests are catered for.The majority of the clubs and activities are led and organised by Teachers and Teaching Assistants. They also offer music lessons which are run by qualified, external experts, all of whom are DBS checked (subject to an additional cost).
REMOTE LEARNING
They have compiled the main home learning websites that we have access to and use at Auckland College. These are as follows: Prep Department: Mathletics, TT Rockstars and Letterjoin. Secondary Department: Mathwatch, Educake and Khan Academy. All students have personal log in details provided by class or subject teacher. We have also compiled a list of additional educational websites you can explore with your children if they need any extra activities.
ENHANCED CURRICULUM
At Auckland College we have always placed enrichment at the heart of everything they do to ensure that every child develops to their full potential, both academically and personally. They believe that the attainment of high standards of English, Mathematics and general academic performance is in no small part because the children and young people are happy at school and fully involved in its wider life. It is important to us therefore that the curriculum continues to develop in ways that not only enhances our formal academic programme but also provides a complete education experience for your child. They continually work to update and improve the curriculum, and from September 2016 the students at Auckland College began to benefit from some exciting new developments in the Enhanced Curriculum Programme.
