ArtsEd Day School & Sixth Form, an exceptional independent school for 11- to 18-year-olds where pupils immerse themselves in high-calibre academic study whilst developing their talent and their passion for performance.
The ArtsEd Day School & Sixth Form enjoys a consistent position as the most academically successful performing arts school in the UK. All pupils are inspired by a strong sense of family and shared purpose to achieve their full potential right across the curriculum. And outside of school hours, we offer a wide range of evening, weekend and holiday courses for all ages and abilities.
For 100 years, ArtsEd has inspired confidence, nurtured talent and achieved results. Do you want to know what that looks like?
This year, we were awarded TEF Gold, the highest rating from the Teaching Excellence and Student Outcomes Framework and, for the third year running, we were ranked in the top-five drama schools for student satisfaction in the National Student Survey.

Our Day School and Sixth Form Open Evenings took place online in October. All of the video footage and recordings of our Live Q&As are now available to view on demand. Click here to explore our interactive maps.
Audition dates for those wanting to start in September 2021 are as follows:
Registration: We audition everyone who applies to ArtsEd. The majority of pupils join the school in either Year 7 or 12, although we also welcome pupils into Years 8, 9 and 10. When possible, we encourage school movers to join us in Year 9, when we start the curriculum for some of our key GCSE courses. We are unable to accept applications for Year 10 once the academic year has started.
Assessment: Prospective pupils spend a day in the school with the other applicants, allowing them to get a taste of life here at the same time as we get to know them. Our staff are very warm and welcoming, and make the day as enjoyable as possible. Everyone takes part in the following:
We will provide full audition details, including preparation tips, once a prospective pupil is registered. Candidates will need to prepare either a dance or a drama audition piece. All candidates will need to prepare a short song.
References from the applicant’s current school and past school reports are also taken into consideration.

For the Sixth Form, we are able to offer a number of means-tested scholarships based on exceptional talent. Successful candidates are awarded either a fully funded or partially funded place, according to individual circumstances.
To be considered for a scholarship, you must score highly right across the audition process and be below the household income threshold set by ArtsEd. Scholarship applicants will be asked to submit evidence of their financial situation. Potential scholars are invited to a second round of auditions that take place after the main auditions in February.
