Wyedean Canoe and Adventure Centre, based in Symonds Yat East, is the original and leading canoe hire and adventure activity centre on the River Wye. Family-run since 1987, it provides safe, fun, and memorable experiences for families, couples, schools, and groups from around the world.

Activities include canoeing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), and raft building — all guided by qualified instructors. Kayaking: Our kayaking sessions are tailor made to meet the groups exacting requirements. We use the placid water in front of our centre to teach and practice strokes, but with the New Weir Rapids only a short paddle away, the thrill and excitement of white water is waiting for those who want to give it a go.
SUP Experience: Come and give Stand Up Paddle Boarding a go, it’s great fun! This 3 hour SUP Experience Session with a group size up to 10 people. Using the River Wye here in Symonds Yat, all necessary equipment is provided along with our expert instructor to teach you and keep you safe.
Raft Building: Take on a thrilling adventure with our 3-hour raft building experience in the picturesque hamlet of Symonds Yat East, guided by our expert instructors. Nestled amidst the stunning scenery of the River Wye, this experience offers a perfect blend of excitement and teamwork as you construct your very own raft.
Canoe & Kayak: Explore Symonds Yat by canoe or kayak for an hour or two. This beautiful location is a small hamlet in the heart of the Wye Valley. Not only is it the perfect place to go canoeing but there are also some fantastic places to eat, great woodland walks and stunning scenery.
